Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial has begun in the US Senate.
The former president is charged with “inciting insurrection” in a speech to supporters ahead of the deadly riot at the US Capitol on 6th January.
Impeachment is the process where a public official is charged with high crimes or misdemeanours. They are tried in the US Senate with a two-thirds majority required to reach a verdict.
