Devon Sawa REACTS to 1997 Throwback Clip and His HEARTTHROB Status (Exclusive)

Devon Sawa opens up to ET’s Deidre Behar in a wide-ranging interview, reflecting on his past as a ‘90s teenage heartthrob and looking toward his future as a versatile actor. The 42-year-old star gets candid about his early work in beloved films like ‘Casper,’ explaining that he’s come to terms with his character’s iconic line, ‘Can I keep you?’ Despite admitting that his heartthrob past comes up occasionally in casting sessions, Sawa says he’s grateful for his early roles because he wouldn’t be where he is today without them. In fact, the actor has a great reaction when he watches back a 1997 throwback clip on-set of ‘Wild America.’ He also reveals that he was ‘heartbroken’ after losing out on a big movie role he really wanted and was close to landing. The Canadian actor also shares his story of getting ‘burned out’ and nearly quitting acting after working most of his childhood, which led him to take an extended break in his mid-twenties. Today, Sawa has a refreshed perspective and is more passionate about acting than ever. In recent years, he’s shared the screen with actors like John Travolta, Sylvester Stallone and Sharon Stone. Sawa’s latest project, ‘Hunter Hunter,’ a chilling horror film about survival, is in theaters, on Digital and VOD on Dec. 18.
